General Info
Madrid is the political, cultural and geographical center of Spain, and is also the hub of much of the country's road network. Spain has nearly 100,000mi/160,000km of roads. The major superhighways require a toll and are generally well-maintained. Provinical roads vary in quality, but all major highways are of superior quality.

Requirements
To rent a car, you must be at least 21 years old (age may vary by car category) and have held your license for 1 year. Drivers under the age of 25 may incur a young driver surcharge. Seatbelts are mandatory. Child seats are mandatory for children up to age 3 and children under 12 may not sit in the front seat.

Speed Limits
Speed limits in Spain are as follows: City 31mph/50kph Open Roads 55mph/90kph Highways 74mph/120kph

Rules of the Road
Traffic travels on the right and if a car approaches you and signals an intention to pass, you must turn on your right directional to signal that the road ahead is clear.

Tolls
Spain's expressways, the "autopistas," are toll roads and are identified by the letter A.

Parking
"Blue zone" parking exists in Spanish cities. Marked by signs that say "Zona Azul," parking is valid for 2 hours and parking discs for this zone are available at most hotels and town halls.

General Information
Car rental insurance varies widely, so please review the information below prior to making your reservation. Regulations of the country where you rent the car will be in effect for the duration of your rental.

All our car rental rates include fire and third party liability insurance. Our inclusive rates also provide collision and theft coverage at an advance purchase discount. Specific insurance information for your reservation will be printed on your confirmation voucher.

Required Coverage
Fire and third party liability insurance is mandatory and is included in all rentals. Third party liability coverage is unlimited in Spain in case of damage or injury to people or property outside of the rental car.

Optional Coverage
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and theft protection are included in our inclusive rates at a discount. CDW and theft coverage reduce the deductible (responsibility of the client) to £335.00 - £666.00. Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) is available at the rental counter for approximately £3.00 - £7.00 per day. Super CDW may be offered locally to reduce the deductible as low as zero.

General Information
Most car categories can be driven anywhere in Western Europe without restriction. Due to insurance regulations, there are restrictions on luxury car categories and on travel in certain countries. Please take a minute to ensure that your intended itinerary will be possible with the car you plan to rent.

Restricted Countries
Cars are not allowed into the following countries: Albania, Bosnia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine and Yugoslavia. Travel on the African continent is not allowed.

One-Way Rentals
Domestic one-way rentals within mainland Spain are free of charge with most vehicles. Some restrictions do apply. There are fees for international one-way rentals and not all vehicles are permitted.
